Blog readers might skip reading the blog if the pic takes too long to load. I also think the white makes it a bit too plain, and doesn't entirly blend or 'go' with the image. Also if you've used other people's codes, or taken things from them you should CREDIT them- even if they just inspired you. It's like getting a pic off the net and only thanking Google, not the designer/artist.
