We are glad to have finally concluded the results for the Valentine's Day 2009 competition. Please note that the judges' comments are not in order so as to be as discreet as possible. We regret any possible mistake in the results, for the winners have already been decided. And last but not least, every single comment is made to be constructive and not intentionally negative in any way. We hope that with this, skinners will learn to be able to look into their weaknesses and learn from them.  Also, as promised, I will put up a 4-week commendation for the winning entry on my blogskin profile. As for the website, I will blog about it once my new layout is up.

About
Labelled Love is the official competition for Valentine's Day 2009. It is a theme of love in all kinds of form - be it friendship, family, your significant other or even your pet cockroach.
Timeline
This contest is opened to all ages, gender and sexuality beginning from 1st January 2009 to 8 February 2009. (11:59PM)
Award
A unique banner will be designed by each of the judges for the respective winners. The grand winner will be given commendation on the host's profile page and web portal for 4 weeks. The judges have the rights not to announce a grand winner if necessary.

1) All participants are entitled to one entry each, pertaining to the theme which relates to any form of love. Submission must be dated 1st January or later and no existing entries before the stated date will be allowed. Competition banner must be included in the skin information page in order to join. Please post the following banner on your skin info page and link it back to the thread in order to be eligible:

2) No imageless layouts. Submission has to include an image and a proper credit for any resources used. (i.e. base codes, colour scheme, images, etc.) Submissions which do not fulfill any or both of the two criteria will be rejected.
3) Image used must not be blatantly ripped off from original artist. We want you to be original with your submission. A minimum editing of image will be acceptable but we encourage you to be more creative with your work. Please do seek permission of any artwork used.
4) Statistics of an entry will not affect the outcome of the competition results.
5) Twitness will not be tolerated in any form. Express yourself in appropriate language. However, you may try to challenge us with something different and we will definitely look forward to your submission! (and at your own risk)

- Concept 30%
We want to see a skin which shows creativity, talent, and most importantly, originality. Amaze us and put us in awe with your talented creative juices!
- Visual 30%
A good presentation will always help to enhance the overall look and feel of the design. This includes the type of colour scheme and the handling of images. Impress us with your skills and show us your ability to create stunning visuals.
- Quality 20%
Besides a good concept and visual, it is important to have quality in your work. Not only are we looking at the outside, we will also be grading the effort put into the backend details. This includes quality of your images, quality of your coding and last but not least, the overall organization.
2. Content Alignment 10%
Content alignment is indirectly related to the coding of your design. We want to see the flexibility of your layout positioning and the placing of your design.
3. Resolution 10%
Resolution refers to the size of your layout. Be it small or big, we want to see how you take your sizes into consideration, and how user-friendly your layout is.

Yes, a little too early, but for now I am hoping to seek suggestions. The new year is approaching and so there would be only less than 2 months for people to prepare for the competition, thus my decision to initiate it earlier. I will only elaborate on the details till a later date once confirmed.

I suggest you make the submitting date somewhere in mid-January,then judging date from 31 January to 13 February and release the results on Valentine's day itself!

Good question. For now the theme is undecided but we are most likely going to go for the general open-ended theme.
