There are currently more than 1217 cases of H1N1 in Singapore!!! :O

SINGAPORE FIRST DEATH!
A 49-year-old man with multiple co-morbidities (diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol) who was admitted to Changi General Hospital(CGH) on 16 July 2009 after 4 days of flu-like symptoms and was diagnosed with Influenza A (H1N1-2009), has passed away this afternoon. He died of a heart attack, contributed by severe pneumonia with underlying Influenza A (H1N1-2009) infection.

|| When school re-opens on 29 June, schools will implement a number of precautionary measures. There will be several layers of checks. This includes setting up stations at the school gates to screen students and staff who are entering the school premises. At the screening stations, those who have returned from affected countries on and after 22 Jun but who may have missed the earlier notifications, will be served LOA and asked to go home. Those who are unwell will be also advised to go home. In the first hour, class teachers will conduct a temperature taking exercise and students will be asked to submit their declaration forms. Students who register a fever, or who have travelled to affected countries, will be immediately moved to another room. Those who are unwell and have travelled recently to affected countries will be isolated and taken by ambulance for medical treatment via 993. The school will inform the parents of other unwell students so that they can bring them to see a doctor and seek their cooperation to exercise social responsibility and ensure that their children are well before returning to school. ||
._. wtf!? I have travelled to affected countries beyond 22 June and.. have soar throat. But I'm leaving to go back to Singapore tomorrow =D

Also, CCAs will be scaled down, but what about tuition and 3rd Language? Those alone would be enough to spread the virus to students from many different schools, as well as people on their bus routes and people they just happen to pass by.

Yeahh, agrees with w1k143va, you should maybe kind of talk to the ministry about that , H1N1 will pass around like crazy when school reopens and the ministry is really taking a risk.

Even if we go talk to the ministry it'll be like very difficult to make the choice since there's only 1 more day left to school reopen. If that's the case, finding a 100 people to go make a scene there also wouldn't help. But I'd think that the MOH & MOE would decide to close down the school when school starts not long later. Meanwhile, let's just get ready for school and hope that you won't catch the disease.

I think they didn't want to announce the closure of schools because people are more likely to extend their travel plans then.

I have a better suggestion. Just get all your parents to complain to MOE about your safety and the fact that it would just get worse and that they are freaking scared that you guys would get infected.

If not willing then that's it la. Your parents aren't even concerned about you going back to school and being infected so why should you bother? The more you should just ignore this whole situation.
Honestly, do you really think the government would budge just because a few kids come around to their HQ and say that "oh we're so scared of getting infected please extend our holidays"? C'mon. If I'm the government I would also go like "I have better things to do than to attend to your whinings".

Thank you for the constant update, pred!a-tor. I miss school, but I'm afraid that the it's spreading way too fast. I honestly think that maybe closing school for a few weeks would have its advantages. But sure it does have disadvantages too, those who are taking national exams this year cant afford to give the holidays away. Unless extending the holidays comes along with pushing the exam back. But I doubt it is possible.

I think it'll be more than that - the current number of 454 was achieved before school reopened. The end of the holidays will just add fuel to the fire. Of course, fewer people will be travelling overseas, but since intra-community spread isn't even news anymore that won't reduce the number of cases.

Which I filled up.. and told them I was sick.
Than the doctor say I cannot go out for 1 week!!
