Hey.
Before I start, I just want to say that I so called have the rights to actually judge BS community's status because I have been here for almost four years where I had once been new, dumb, stupid, weird....(i dont mean that the current newbies are dumb or anyth). I mean that I am extremely familiar with BS so I really hope I do make sense later.
Ok the thing is,
the present skins aren't as attractive as they were in the past where skinners had been very creative and it was actually interesting. Nowadays I don't bother browsing through the skins and lost interest in skinning.
and the theads' topics are becoming controversial nowadays (self-plugging, sotds, wtv)
a tip: if you think that the thread is useless... you ignore it because it's gna sink. no pnt replying the fact that you dont like it and that it should be erased.....???? get wad i mean?
there are hardly any competitions and i dont feel that we are bonding.
its like we are just minding our own businesses....
oh fyi whatever and i mean WHATEVER kind of competition i host, it fails......
i dont know why but yeah...
this is just MY OPINION.
So pour in all your thoughts abt this community HERE.

I think the sinking thread part is because people see that thread and think that it's too irritating to ignore, and they HAVE to say something. You get what I mean? It's only the people who comment AFTER that who are either (i) ass-wipers, (ii) ASS-WIPERS.
Just joking, maybe they wanna wipe something else for you but they just can't present it well enough in a cool manner. 8)

i think the skins from 2007 are the best ones. used to get my skins from them.
sad to say i'm not a creative skinner.

please, not another complaining thread...
you're not happy with BS and we can't make you like BS by force anyway.
ok you wanna say that BS is getting lame day by day, so what? we're not its owners, we don't have to worry about it, we have to worry about how we spend our own time, and if we really enjoy it or not.
PS. was the forums always this way or is it just me starting to get active on threads? you've been complaining all these times where I was away skinning and rating?! duh! we're all killing our lives guys.

i posted in the general section because you guys hardly pay any attention to other sections.
its not a complaint. its rather a feedback thread. instead of creating multiple threads IN THE FUTURE.....i posted this so that ppl can share their views...
i aint forcing anyone as i ASKED FOR YOUR VIEWS...!!
its sad that u dont care because u dun get the fact that we are a COMMUNITY.
im just helping. if you dont like it, then just leave it. i am not forcing anyone here.

I don't see this as a complaint thread though.
And my view is, Blogskins has totally changed from the past. The skins in 2007 were the best, just like what urbanshoujo94 said. Maybe if everyone works hard we can make Blogskins a better place. There was once when lots of flaming happened, remember? But now it's all gone. So it shows that Blogskins can change for the better. Why don't we help Blogskins change and become a much more better community?

Well change is constant, no matter how ironic that is, and I think we've just got to accept that BS will always change. And do you honestly want that era of skins back? I mean those skins were great, no one's arguing that point, but do they really belong in this new BS or in the old BS?

We can't control what other people think, say and do....
It takes alot of people to make something a 'trend' so it's rather hard to change?

Maybe its because blogskinners ran out of ideas? cause most of the ideas has already been used,so they are still thinking of what designs they should use,so maybe a few more months,after they thought of some more creative ideas,maybe it would'nt be so boring then.

blogskinning and forum, this two things to me are two separate issues. In the past, blogskins submitted are filled with praises and encouragement , one better than the previous and everyone came here with just a passion for blogskinning. For the forums, I've only been lurking in the forum for the past one-two years so i can't say anything but however, I see a similarity: people are pretty blunt with words. I don't know if thats a good thing but definitely I don't feel as comfortable as I was before here. haha I still remember last time friendship between everyone was good and stuffs. I don't think its quite possible now.
However, people move on and when things change, we will adapt, re-adapt to compromise each other's mistakes and to fit into the environment! There's no point ranting about how the standard of skins dropped but reminiscence once in awhile will be good enough. I still love to do skinning

I've been on bs for about 4 years too and i think it recently got a little dull over the past year. Everyone's busy and the newbies keep using the same basecodes thus alike layouts. I guess we skinners try our best to produce work that people will favour and we try to make it different everytime. Mostly everyone is just here to post a layout, get it shared and recieve good feedback we linger around just for fun's sake thats why you see so many of "those" threads around.

I miss this place! One thing i agree with you on, fastforward, is the competitions. There used to be really fun competitions around, and although I do not join them, it's fun to see those awesome submissions and see people making such pretty banners for the comps. Certainly miss those days man...

God. I've been here for more than 4 years.
Then I left for a few months and EVERYTHING changes.
And I feel that people should stop submitting skins just for the sake of submitting skins. They should treat it more like submitting their BEST work.
