So...erm ya. Self-explanatory right?
Wondering wat subject 2 take...hard decision sia....
Give me some ideas???
For those sec 2 and below...maybe share wat u intend 2 take?? and why??
Sec3 and above.... tell about ur experiences with ur current subject??
Thnx for even reading this...really need some opinions... XD

i'm in sec 1. xD
small small girl yeah.
i intend to take pure science for science,
a maths e maths, obvious.
english, duh~
chinese, higher chinese, because i'm in HCL, and not allowed to go back normal unless i fail..
art, uh-huh!
music, cuz i'm in choir.. 
design + technology, because i love art.
i mean, ain't i naming all the subjects i have in school?
LOL.
i DON'T want history and geography..
but there are no choice.. are there?
those two are important.. says my sis, who's taking 'O' levels this year, now.

i heard pure science is tough :O

I decided against going to the triple science stream though I can ;0
There's no point going to triple science eventhough it's the 'best' stream around. I've seen many dropping out because it's too stressful (?) There's no point being the worst student in the best class when you can the best student in another class. Choose according to your strengths ;D

I chose art + ss/geo + comb. sci + a math. I'm gonna to request for Bio too

I think I might take Bio + Chem, but Imma not sure whether to take History or Geog.
I have to say, I don't score well in both.
I can score in History, but only in exams, dunno whyszxc.
And Geog tires me out.
I don't really like Physics, even though this term we learnt about thermal physics, so apparently it's not that hard, but I still dislike it a lot.
And btw, yeah Imma sec 1 @ RV.

I'm taking bio, chem, geog.
Don't take phy if you can't understand it. Don't take bio if you're not the type of person that can memorise and if you have no interest in bio. Take hist if you're good in writing, you don't do too bad in it and you're interested in it. Take geog if you're interested in it.
That's about it?

Think about what you want to be when you grow up.I didn't do this when I was doing my streaming and now I really regret it.
And if it's not compulsory,do NOT take SS.Unfortunately for me,it's compulsory and it SUCKS.

Physics, though you may not like it, may be really helpful if you want to look for a course/job in the future, I think.

The level ranking will be out on MON.
& my clique, ( 4 of them in the better class ) was in top 80. They have the choice to choose which class to go. And they intended to take,
Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry, Pure History. Elective Geog/Lit & SS With Eng, Chinese, A & E Maths.
I wanted to take too. But.. my physics not very good.. I worked damn hard for physics and yet my bio scored more. Then I hated history. always failing..
Second class choice,
Eng, Chinese A & E Maths, Combined Chem / Bio, Elective Geog/Hist & SS . F&T / DNT..
But i dont want any coursework D: !
Any advices?

Even though im sec 1, but still cant really decide leh LOLS.
If possible, i would take triple science, if not perhaps Phy and Chem.
As for geog and hist, i love them both. So, I would not know which to choose once I reach sec 2..
My geog score better. But I heard from some seniors that those that take geog, keep failing. So, yeah..

Look at what combis the sch offers first and see which is the compulsory science. I know some schools (like VS) make Phy compulsory while some schools make Chem compulsory.
Really depends luh. If you're artsy fartsy I'd suggest the combined sciences, if you're more left brained then go for sciences.
Oh, and try not to take music or art as an extra subject cos those are too subjective. Personally for me I find those a bit risky cos it depends on the examiners' tastes.

Actually you guys have quite alot of misconceptions happening here.
Such as, geography does not require a good memory, it is more of understanding and application.
Secondary school humanities, not looking for language, so you do not have to have a good command in english.
Do not listen to your friends, they tend to give off alot of.. ideas that are.. assumed. Any doubts on the subjects, best is ask your teacher. I would be praying for everyone to get their desired combi. But I do urge you guys, do not take a coursework based+three sciences and do not take three sciences thinking it will bring you everywhere.
EDIT./ Coursework based will either break you or save you. Tho, I myself take art. I say dnt's the best. Just saying lah, really should consider coursework, very useful.

DNT the coursework like very hard. My friend's sis says so.. but im not sure.
For me, my language is not very good. Thats why i had problem expressing my thoughts and my answers. So I always need to memorise those answer. ( for sci , geog & hist )

Oh yah, btw, you should also be looking at where you wanna go after Os to make your decision. What you wanna be when you grow up better, at least you'll know that way whether you wanna take poly or JC route. If you're planning on going to poly research what your required 2 subjects are for the course you wanna go into if you need to.

i MAY be able to get into triple sci ,
but i think i want double luh (chem and bio!) cus later enter triple sci then become too stressed .
then fr humans , maybe geog & hist ? Omg I really don't know okay. I just don't like lit ARGH .
But i scared i can't rmb all the stuff for hist ! ==
and the future job i want probably doesn't require anything related to studies anw , hahah .

Lets see...... I'm only P6, but I'm being paranoid about my future *LOL I'M SO PARANOID*
I'll choose 3 sciences, 3 humanities, HCL, Japanese (Want to take double third language if can cause I want French too).
A maths and E maths, and whatever extra subjects there are.
Of course, the languages too.
I donnoe if I'll go into art, cause my art seriously SAI.
Being paranoid again, I keep finding myself in front of the calculator, calculating the score I would get for PSLE. LOL got once the result cane out as 245 only, and I was like WTF......
If you're not the study type, you seriously shouldn't choose any third language cause your results will really turn SAI......(No offence)
Live example: My friend wasn't really that good in Chinese but took HCL in P5 to get the extra points for SAP school in PSLE, and the next year, he ended up in the second class.

If you're able to, go for Triple Science.
You'll have more subject combis to choose from when you get into JC...

I took Double Science, Bio/Chem as my first choice. Electives, were Lit firstly, then Hist, then Geog.

My eng tuition teacher advised me to take pure chem + pure physics. ss+ geography(although i'm not eligible for geography..but maybe see if there's luck?) ..a maths..blahblah.
however,i understand bio better but it's a headache when it comes to memorising parts etc.i don't understand science and i don't like both geo and history.HOW!?

I'm taking triple science
but i cannot decide whether to take:
elect lit + pure geog
elect geog + pure lit
elect hist + pure geog
I'm not particularly bad/good in any of those subjects... but i think i like lit

Triple Science seems so "attractive" in my school because there's only one class for that combination. It's kinda rigid actually.
I'd recommend Triple Science, especially if there's 2 or 3 classes offering that in your school. I guess that the expectations for admission can be easily met, e.g. you'll probably only need to score at least B in Maths and Science, as compared to schools with only 1 class which would most probably require an A...
But if you're taking Double Science instead, I'd suggest you go for Chem + Bio. Though Bio's mostly memory work and conceptual, it's way more interesting than Physics, and most of the time it's easier too...
p.s. Triple Science ain't the "safest" combination, in the sense that it can give you a wider array of choices when you graduate. Beyond secondary school, I don't think you'll be allowed to take all 3 science subjects anymore... you'll only be offered 2 of them. I guess it's just a matter of when you make that decision - when you're in secondary school or when you're in JC/Poly.
Just my opinion. Go for the combination you know you'll like.
