well, this thread is basically sharing awful and ungracious things that you have seen in public , like on the bus or on the mrt.
i would start first. i was on the mrt when a middle-aged lady came into the cabin with 3 toddlers.
They were either malay or tamil, it happen a long time ago, so i can't remember clearly.
You know, there are those poles for passengers to hold on to in the mrt.
The children were playing merry-go-round with the pole and
the lady, most probably the children's mother,
was using the phone, talking loudly.
i wanted to take their pictures and put it on stomp.
but the angle just dont seems to be right.

Oh there was once, on the bus, there was this guy and girl (17-19?) groping each others' butts and kissing non-stop. Couldn't take a photo though cos they were right in front of me and I didn't dare.
|
| |
| |
|
| |
yar me too, the children were like only a metre away from me?
|

Yeah, I was on the bus and everybody was looking at them. How rude, it's like, they don't care.
I hate these kind of people. When i get a boyfriend, I sure won't be like that.
|
| |
| |
|
| |
well, that's what you said. but i'm sure when you get a bf, it won't be easy to control your passion.
i'm not saying that their actions are right but well, no one can be sure of what you'll or what you won't do.
who knows, maybe one fine day you'll be the one on the train or bus smooching/talking loudly.

That time when I took the mrt,
Got this pregnant lady boarded at one stop.
she was carrying many plastic bags, and yet no one offered a seat for her.
Kelian right.
I was standing at that time, so no seat to offer her..
|
| |
| |
|
| |
people should not occupy the priority seat when they should be offering the seat to others who need it more then they do.

I've seen a full grown man pick his nose in a food court.
I lost my appetite after that.

OMG, that's totally disgusting :S

To be honest, I find STOMPers more disgusting than those who display discourteous acts on public transport. All you need to do is go up to the person and tell them they're being a rude prick, you don't need to sneakily snap a photograph and put it up on the world wide web, especially since 1) you don't really know the full story and 2) you're breaching on the person's privacy if you take a photo without their consent. Even if the person was in the wrong they can still sue you for taking those photos instead of going up to their faces and telling them off.
And please lar, there are so many articles on discourtesy in public transport already lar, you don't need to add anymore can? -.-

I don't mean to start a debate here but, why do people complain of passengers who refused to give up their seats to people who need them more...?
If they really do pity those people deprived of their seats and consider themselves considerate, shouldn't they help and ask passengers seating to give up their seats instead of just looking and doing nothing?
It doesn't make them any different to people who just turn a blind eye to those in need.
If they feel embarrassed to do so, is it right to just complain about them then?
Sorry, just my one cents worth since this thing's been bugging me.
Peace.
p/s: I'm not saying it's right to take up a priority seat as well.

Lol i saw two guys talking loudly on the bus like its their home and soon they were singing.

People picking their noses and earshit as if nobody can see them. It's absolutely disgusting. I saw this rather well-dressed lady digging out her earshit on the bus. I was sitting behind her, i almost vomitted when I saw her flickering her earshit away from her fingertips. *sick*
And oh! People clipping their finger/toenails. I saw this person clipping her toenails at the busstop while I was waiting for the bus the other day. It was so..eugh.

I went out with my friend today on the public bus and then there were this bunch of people (from my school!) talking so damn loudly. They can even say "Hey, public bus leh!" to themselves yet they keep on talking. -.-

Stomp sucks.
I was taking 53 the other day and there were these few little kids that were screaming and all. I told them to shut up and they started bitching about me.

Stop criticising anyone here, it's not like you haven't been disgraceful in public before.
|
| |
| |
|

it's not critisizing lor, we also didn't mention anyone's name.
You are just being to sensitive.
Or are you somebody being critisized?

this guy sat beside me.. and his mucus started to dropping on his hand.( without his knowledge )
i think he is a drug addict..you know, out of his mind or something?? or who on earth would DO THAT????
i am still traumatised
p/s: come on annihiliated, chill. we are only telling our most disgusting experiences.

Duhhh no. But can you stop talking about what horrendous things Singaporeans do on the WWW for the whole world to see? And like I've said before, it isn't like you haven't done anything disgraceful before. You wouldn't like it if someone just so happened to see you do something rude in public and post it here right, even if there were no names mentioned. It's not in any of our positions to judge what other people are doing, or even less to advertise their undesirable actions. These people above deserves their rights to their own privacy and dignity.

privacy in public?
|
| |
| |
|
| |
Even if they had done some things that displease you, they deserves the privacy of not being ridiculed in public
|
| |
| |
|
| |
Well, I agree with the posting of pictures part. I think that is rude. However, there is no name, no picture, or any other identity involved in doing this. As too_crazy said, there is no 'privacy' in public. If you are in the public, you should know how to behave yourself. They are asking for a bad name and we are not ridiculing anyone as there is no name/identification involved. We are merely stating the "actions" done.

I have seen many people i wanted to take their pictures but coz of several reason i cant but now i will definitely do that and put their pictures here.

I'm guessing Annihilated. has been disgraced badly on the WWW before.
|
| |
| |
|
| |
So you think by disgracing others by stating their doings on your web is very graceful? And no, I do not ridicule/disgrace myself in public and have never been.
My point = don't be ironical. And like I said before, it isn't like you haven't done anything disgraceful before.

I disagree. I think we should all see these experiences with an open mind. Nobody will ever improve if there's no criticisms. For example if you've done anything mentioned above before, when you read these post you'll think like 'omg..i better not do it again' and things like that. If nobody ever tells you what you are doing is ugly or wrong, you'll keep on doing it thinking nobody else cares.
And another point, we do not have any intentions to disgrace anybody (we did not even mention any names in fact). We're merely stating what we've seen and what we feel about the whole incident.

How many percent of the Singaporean population will read this post, then?

laugh my arse out.
like i said previously, one day you may be the one doing such acts and you never know people are critising you behind your backs.
and come on, we all are not angels. we sure did wrong things in public before. so who are you to talk about others like this?
|
| |
| |
|
| |
That is almost equivalent to how many Singaporeans have blogspots. Blogskins.com is most likely the first place they come if they want a blogskin. Just because there are only 30 replies here doesn't mean only 30 people had read this post. Who knows, there could already be 1000 visitors count to this post already, just that most of them didn't bother to post anything.
The point is not this however, since even if this post is put up on a popular site like STOMP, you'll still feel the same way as it is being put up here.
edit: ok since you've stopped, i shall stop too. lol.

I was in the bus waiting for the bus to stop at my stop ( LOL ! Haha ) Than when it reaches my stop , there was a small boy also stopping there . I was holding my bubble tea though . I was thinking . Whats wrong with him ? I was just holding bubble tea . HOW can i act action while holding Bubble tea .. I guess he is Primary 3 or so ? Because he's like Short . SERIOUSLY Short .

Ooh Annihilated., I'm not saying its graceful. And your statement is kinda contradicting though,
"And no, I do not ridicule/disgrace myself in public and have never been."
and then,
"And like I said before, it isn't like you haven't done anything disgraceful before."
I sooo agree with iyuhsnehc.
I'll rest my case too.
Sorry to Annihilated., if you think I'm flaming. No offense taken?

They dig like nobody's business. Some even licked it after they finished their business.
Wonder if they're digging for gold.

I do not know what is it you have against me, but when I said that, what I meant was that I have not done things that disgrace me at this point of time, meaning now. And I also said haven't done anything, meaning in the past, for there is a word 'done'. Content with my explanation?
