..that blogskins is somehow made of 60% spammers and 40% skinners. I mean, it's quite sad that there are merely skins being submitted here. What I always see are those pictures of dresses, devices, and some other weird stuff those spambots are getting busy with.
Just a thought : p

It's kinda annoying-_- and after about an hour we submitted skin, it got pushed out because those spammers.

yes, i'm agree with you all! i suggested that blogskins should ask to enter a security word, captcha, or anything before uploading things so those spammers will decreasing.~
seriously, those spammers are very annoying.

This site is basically dead. Nobody ever goes online here and neither do I. There's not much activity on the forums, no drama, no (serious) discussion and the only threads that remain are those mindless games or fangirl Kpop discussions.
The inactivity, along with the spam and unoriginality of the layouts submitted everyday annoys me. Ugh, all the layouts look the same. The layouts that truly deserve recognition are pushed deep into the layout archives by spam and other popular layouts that look the same wtf

I don't want to be mean or anything but the layouts looking all the same with different bad color combinations and low quality banners hurts my eyes every time around! Most of the creative skinners are almost gone or inactive which is just ...sad. I miss the time when blogskins was oozing out out of creativity. :|
I hope they would stop making repetitive skins, taking others' basecodes, and just try their best to make something different. :/

that's bothering me the most but lols . it's USELESS because i don't think so they check this thread and this is not only the thread talk about the 'skin look alike/spam skins ' ahh

but i'm feel pity for you people that make awesome skin but got pushed out by those skin that look a like . lols but believe me one day they will feel bored here

lithium is right guys. what about an inspiration challenge?
something like taking a photo, design element, or some other real-life thing and translating it into a series of layouts.
i think that most of us already do this but if you make it a challenge, it might inspire other designers to do the same. Plus, you'll be excited to reach the end of a challenge to make multiple layouts, rather than just coding whenever something randomly comes to mind (I am guilty of this) and becoming inactive when a layout is done.
i dunno, i'm just brainstorming.

Money doesn't have to be a prize. You can also just create a simple badge in Photoshop with first three places.
I like the inspiration challenge. We could have also a themed challenge, e.g. everybody makes some city-inspired layout, and they have exactly determined guidelines how to design template (it has to have profile space, links, not too plain..)
The only problem is, it will probably bring another wave of negative competitive energy.

I think that competitiveness can be harmful at times but it does force the individual person to bring their best.

we've had like 10 million competitions since the death in 2011 but none of them managed to work. fweh

@Challenge: yes, exactly what I was talking about. And that competitivness is the least of problems here on Blogskins. There are just too many cheaters, spammers, it‘s not fun at all.

Because nobody likes doing this anymore. It's no longer FUN (I don't know how you define fun, that is) Basically, people change and we all moved on. It's not really surprising, is it? Something that can be THE trend for a period of time doesn't mean it'll appeal to us for a long time. People grow up, you know. I've already grown out of this past. So there is really no point in asking us, old blogskinners, where the hell we have gone to. All the dramas we staged last time are completely redundant. If you want drama, go watch Korean dramas. I bet it will do the trick.
Tbh, all the interesting people are gone... Now this is just a boring, dull and lonely place to be.

That's an interesting thought dorothyfrenzy.
I do partly agree that some people no longer derive fun from it, but I think the rest of the people either get busy with other important life things or they make web design into a career like Chris Coyier or the entire team on Net.tutsplus.com.
I guess it makes sense that Blogskins would be losing the "Greats". They've gotten older and their other interests take precedence now, I guess.
