Introductions :
Hey friends ! (: I had always wanted to host a competition and thanks to the help of delusivefantasies (: The theme for my competition is called " the shapes competition." though it does sounds a bit idiotic and weired. I decided to called this the shapes competition is due to my latest submission of skin, it was made up of many circles.
Requirement to fulfill :
1. Using shapes to form pictures. ( any shapes.)
2. It must have a decent theme.
3. It must be colourful.
5. In any form of navigations.
6. Involvement of human.
I believe this requirements are rather easy to achieve.
So here's th rules :
1. Credit every resource to their exact location,not only to the site itself.
1.1 Basecodes are to be creditted.
1.2 The image must be given an exact location.
1.3 Fonts for the image MUST be creditted as well, font name must also be provided.
2. Skin must be submitted to blogskins.com or it will not be judged
2.1 do attach this banner ; otherwise it will be marked out as VOID.

2.2 The skin type must be BLOGGER MAIN, and preview must be available, if there is a preview error, please provide a live demo, or the preview error in the site is the one we will be looking at.
2.3 The limit for this competition is 3.
3. Skins submitted for this purpose cannot be submitted for other competitions.
4. SOTD and NON-SOTD makes no difference in the judging of the skin.
5. Do no rip skins off, cos they would be voided when seen by the judges.
6. Image quality would NOT be counted in the judging criteria.
7. Edit the picture, at least a little, don't take it off wholesale- photoshop, paint and others are allowed. Any software is allowed.
8. YOU MAY RESUBMIT your skin that has not gone for any competition if you created one long ago, as long as the date states: March 23th 2008, 5.40PM [Singapore Time GMT (+8)] onwards!
Marks Allocation :
1. THEME - 20 marks
1.1 is the blogskinner able to substain the "the shapes competition" theme throughout the whole blogskin.
1.2 is the blogskinner able to maintain the title of their skin, with the sub theme of shapes, colours.
2. CODES - 20 marks
2.1 is the blogskinner able to get the color of the title, bold, underline, strikethrough, link, itallic to fit to the whole theme and color of the image.
2.2 is the blogskinner able to get the codes in a neat format that those who don't know html will even understand.
3. DESIGN -50 marks
3.1 is the designer able to collage the different pictures or one picture to fit nicely like a jigsaw puzzle into the blogskin.
3.2 is the color combination right
3.3 organisation skill of the designer to format the skin to look neat
3.4 image quality with the style of the designer
3.5 Is a THEME'S SUBTHEME outstanding e.g. Shapes/Colourful/Involvement of human/, is it able to be seen. Is the sub-theme, able to outstand through the image.
4. EFFORT - 10 points
4.1 the way we observe from the cutting and pasting of the pictures into one blogskin if you are doing one.
4.2 The codes are done up with great effort like writing on your own, starting it out from scratch.
4.3 Quality of the work with their limited resources
4.4 Their SOAB Skills.
Significance / tructure / ufficent
How is your skin good in signifying the topic you are covering on? the Structure/layout design is considered as well. Is the structure of the code good? Is there sufficent related to topic-coverage?
Organisation
Basically how you organize the layout the format, the codes the way information is listed, how you start the entry column, the header, style.
Attractiveness
What we judge is based on how well you attract people with the TITLE/ SCHEME/ LAYOUT or even the codes. and the picture (with limited softwares on hand).
Bold
The boldness of your design, not highlighting to bold in your normal document context, but how differnt it outstands from the other designs. how well you tried to do your pictures, maybe a different style, and of course how you put your point across to the blogskin-user. freshness of your idea, originality.
4.5 Mostly based on the SOAB and effort. Get it now ?

I cancelled this. No point having a competition when people disagree. I mean you people are really weired. And Darkdegree , you don't even get it.

This is honestly getting out of hand.
I understand your tempting desire to hold a competition, but could you just hold it a little longer? Wait till current competitions end and then you can freely hold a competition.
And yes, please do your own rules. Every competition has its own specific type of rules. By doing this, as a competition host you're promoting plagiarism to the participants.

That four to five competitions should not become the ruler for only how many competitions should be ongoing at one time, I hope.
3 competitions - just unacceptable.
But I don't think we have a choice for her.
So audieee-kewgirl♥ , if you really want to hold the competition now, at least do us a favor by modifying your rules, would that be fine?

Yeah, every competition has its own rules, you don't simply go around and take someone else's rules and paste it as yours, with a bit of edit here and there.
& !ferris.WHEEL².♥, not very true about "more competitions, more varieties to choose from".
It would mean that the competition host would go around asking people to join their competition and trust me, during a normal school curricular term, it is rather difficult to join 3 competitions?
Agreed with Hilary also, last December hols had too many competitions.

if you are going to join then very well... i think the reason why there should not be 2 or more competition is because skinners can't cope that much? Example you really would wanna join this competition but there are THREE competitions you like going on... so what now? If you want her competitions to only have a few submissions... then jolly well go ahead and hold the competition.

i think someone should make standard guidelines for a competition so the marks given for all competitions hosted in BS will be fair and judged in the same light!
