I dont mind constructive criticism. If people think other fonts or colours suit a skin better that's a perfectly decent comment to make. But to go through this site telling people their skins are horrible or that the pictures suck is simply rude.

I notice this user hasnt contributed any skins themselves which I think is rather telling. If you're not willing to share your own design skills with everyone you have no right to flame the efforts of others and deserve to be banned from the site.

It's an ongoing problem with this site.

I'm starting to think that maybe some sort of system should be set up where people earn the right to rate other skins. Like, you're allowed to rate skins once you've submitted a minimum of, say, 5 - 10 skins? (I'm just pulling random numbers out of the air.)

To prevent people from abusing this system, maybe the admin and/or some of the mods can be allowed to 'approve' people to gain the privilege of rating other skins, once they've surpassed the 10-skin submission mark. The reason for admin approval would be to prevent people from simply submitting 'spam' or 'junk' skins in order to be able to rate others.

Okay, this thought just occurred to me as I was typing this response, so it was rather hastily put together. Just thought I'd explain in case what I've just written doesn't make sense to anyone. Haha. :p

Even the ability to delete unwanted rudeness would be helpful.

As far as impostors passing off other people's skins as their own, there's already a mechanism in place for dealing with that and I think it's been working quite well. Every skin has a link called 'LODGE A COMPLAINT'... when you report a skin for whatever reason, it'll end up on one of the moderators' queues and they'll deal with it soon enough.

I dunno about the ability to delete unwanted rudeness... what one person might deem 'rude' could very well just be no more than some frank criticism. Seems subjective. I guess it depends on who does the deleting. If a skin's designer is allowed to delete comments, I can totally see that privilege being abused by people who monitor their skins for what they feel are less than satisfactory ratings, and there'd be a disproportionate ratio of 5 star skins.

Well... I can only speak from personal experience. I know for a fact that moderators can disable skins when someone has complained about them. As far as editing/deleting actual comments, I don't know if there are some mods that can do that.

mela, it's a good idea. but, what if, and i mean *if* someone just paste any picture and place a box beside it and does it for 10 times with a different picture each time? it's still a skin.
