Group Work, Projects etc... Do y'all like it? Or do you prefer individual work?
Do you all think projects always lose their meanings since your group may not be united at all and leave all the job to one?
Are you always the one who is left with all the job? What will you do?
- Will you not do the job?
- Will you do the job?
- Will you do the job and complain about it to the teacher?
- Will you not do the job and complain about it to the teacher?
Do you think complaining to the teacher will be helpful at all?

Personally, I hate it. I've been an experienced person in being solo (one of the slangs used for doing all the jobs by oneself) in a project.
Whenever there is a project, sometimes my group just doesn't start discussing about how to carry out the jobs etc. How stupid! And you can see their faces looking at me, expecting me to do the job. "You pro you do!! We slack~"
I can't possibly
- Scold them so that we'll work together because it just snatches away interest from them once they are ticked off
- Heck-care them and act like nothing happened, not do any job at all, till the presentation day let them realize I do nothing at all
So I just gotta become a 5-in-1 person doing 5 persons' job. I know it's letting people making use of me, taking me for granted. But I couldn't just leave the job alone because if I do that, my whole group including myself will be in dead meat. Sometimes it's just plain dilemma.
They sometimes give stupid excuses like they have no time. And do I look like I have time when I had to finish the jobs only by 4 am and sleep for only 2 hours?
I was glad that some of my group members felt like they were using me and guilty. Good, fine, I appreciate it. But I'd appreciate more if they could put words into actions. Actions speak louder than words. They just say that they feel guilty and do nothing at all about working together. How stupid!
Talking about teachers, they aren't reliable at all for complaints. And you also get unhappy group members if you happen to complain about them. So it's all about dilemma again.
Projects were supposed to improve friendships between classmates and promote unity and teamwork and leadership so to prepare for the working world. But what has it become now?

That's the point. But what if you don't have the choice to your group members?
Teachers keep preaching about the fact students have to work together with different people of different races, because we also cannot choose the colleagues we will work with next time etc.

there's no point in using the word "solo" if you have to explain it. And it's not exactly a slang, yknow?
as for unequal sharing of work, that just shows that you're not too close with your classmates la. Friends will understand fairness and distribute work accordingly.

Guys were rather participative if they are grouped with guys. But there is a trend where the boys in my class are starting to be more open, so I don't think they will mind working with girls now, they weren't in last year though.
For SOME girls, I hate to say that they're still quite immature in their thinking. They only love to work with girls and should they be working with boys they will be quite uncomfortable, unless that particular guy is a good friend of the girls.
My class has been blooming quite a lot of couples recently, so I think sexism will disappear in my class soon. There is already about 3 to 5 couples in my class~
paradoxical-lilium, I know high levels of education can give worse than this~ That's why I've been taking this like a pre-practice, preparation for the worse~

Oooo my friend once doesn't contribute. Then, I just involved her into a group of 4, then...after much persuading, she Contributed. Cant you believe, she actually contributes in everything right now ((: !! I'm a gd teach =DD

wahlao. mine sucked can.
like me and 3 others stayed up until like 2-3am to do our project and the other two did practicaly nothing.
and still had the cheek to comment that what we did wasnt very good.
and ahem "disgusting"
can you effing believe it.
andandand, worse thing is we're going to get the same marks.

Sigh, I hate group work.
It sucks when you put in so much effort in a particular section that you were suppose to do, & someone just jolly hand up some last minute crap work. You have no choice but to include that person's work, as if they would re-do.
or, they effing forgot to bring the project the day it was due.

One thing that I will like to raise up:
If you think you are being taken advantage of, please talk it out with your team mates.
If they refuse to listen, do something about it, and it's not going to the teacher and complain.
