How do you normally go about creating a skin?..using dreamweaver MX, do you build your skin in templates or tables or what?..I'd really like to know..please help me out..thanks a whole lot!

I use a template of sorts...I created a file that just had the basic (X)HTML that I could plug into here and get the blog that you see fed into every (working) template here. Using a text editor (Notepad, Editpad, or whatever is similar in your operating system) and keeping at least two *different* browsers open (I use Mozilla 1.6 and IE6/Win if I'm on the Win32 side of my machine, subbing Opera for IE if I'm on the Linux side), I build from my basic template, mainly adding CSS to my template until I get as close to the design I'm looking for as I can get.

I think notepad is still the best cause sometimes Dreamweaver MX mixes up your codes as you go along. I usually base my skin on images, so I build my skin based on the image. My favourite code would be div layers but sometimes tables are a wonderful base to start with.

Don't use dreamweaver. Really don't. I tried, and it seriously messes up the code, and adds stuff of its own...
Notepad all the way  or, if you like, get a code editor that'll colour things, to make it easier to spot missed " marks or tags left open. But not anything that looks like it'll 'do the work for you' - believe me I have tried. It'll backfire unless you really know what you're doing and can edit it again in notepad, in which case, you may as well do it properly from the start.
Plus, DW etc put stuff in HTML that is better done in CSS.
