i am an avid blogskin fan, as well as a contributor, and i DO NOT like the new layout at all. I think the old one was much cleaner & much easier to navigate. This design seems to me to be more cluttered & I definitely do not like the way the new info pages are setup. AT ALL. I'm sorry if I sound rude, I'm just very dissappointed with the new layout. No hard feelings.

By the way, I decided to do new featured contributors weekly for a while. So may excellent users (like faeryvixen) to highlight.

I'm happy with the new features like 'random skin' and 'tag'. About the design, I'm a little bit disappointed. Perhaps I just need some time to adjust to get used to this new layout. *shrugs*
At first when I came to this site, I thought I entered the wrong place. =P That was my first impression.

Editing/deleting posts is a feature in the next roll out... in the meantime, I can do it

is there any way u can put the login boxes back on the homepage instead of having to click on a link?? i check it often at work & sometimes I only have a split second to do it & that was SOOO much more convenient! ~

re: my earlier post about not liking the layout. I noticed that when I pulled up the site from my work computer that the layout is different than it is on my home computer and it was a lot better. Why is it showing different on my home comp? my resolution on this is now 1280x1024, would that make a difference?
p.s. i agree with qamuri about liking the new added features. i think the 'random skin' link is a great idea.

What are the resolutions and browsers at home and work? I think it doesn't look quite as hot at 1024x768, and I intend to fix it... unless you think it's the opposite

I love how you put the random skin and designer of the week! It gives everyone an opportunity to get their skins viewed!

Yeah I don't like the new layout either. It's not very user friendly and very hard to navigate. And by the way, you are using 2 fonts? It's like all messed up and doesn't look very professional if you do that. Maybe you should just use 1 font. Well just my suggestion Maybe you should consider. The new features are awesome though

One more new thing today: You can now delete tags you added right from the skin info pages.

maybe i don't know much about web design and all but i think the new design is perfectly fine to me. just the fact that i can't log in from the homepage. but all the others features are perfectly ok to me (except those database issues n blah n blah). n no, i didn't think for one moment that i came to the wrong site, coz all the font n colours are so familiar. the blue colour, only blogskins look like this

but i agree w/ some of the people on the forum. i liked the old blogskins layout a lot better. it did look a lot cleaner & was more practical navigation-wise

I'm okay with the new layout, I just think the "Preview" link should be more obvious, like the button in the previous layout.

haha. i don't like this font too! i think the old one [verdana?] is much nicer. but i like the idea of putting the "most recent" column on top. it lets the latest skins get some attention. if not people will just keep downloading the most downloaded skins. haha.

when i view profiles, the google ads extend all the way down, covering stuff up.
it's kind of irritating.
i use firefox on a 1024 x 768 resolution.
that aside, i like the way everything has been rearranged. this layout is far less clunky than the previous one. (: serif fonts all the way!

poor myles..!! lol
now that i'v gotten used to where everything is and what to do, its just like the old skin - easy to use. Some people adapt better with change, some are terrible with it (personally i suck a accepting changes). I really want to praise you about the random skins, and favourites and etc. they are all such wonderful ideas =D
This site had gotten better and better and i want to thank u on doing such a wonderful job for us! u've listened 2 our compliants and our compliments and that is what makes an awesome web-host =D

K, I'm back...go figure. Couple of things -
First, thank you ever-so-much for featuring me... *blushes*
Second, all of the new features on the profile page & random skins, etc..are wonderful, but I do agree that the "preview it" should be a button again. Much easier to see.
Third, thank you for the login on the homepage.
I have adapted to the new layout, too, so much that I honestly don't remember what the old one looked like and it's working out pretty well, but I most definitely hate the Georgia font.
Other than that, I agree with Elly-Mae, you have been extremely open-minded & an excellent web-host. Rawk on.

I am dissapointed by this new design. I prefer the old design. But the features added were useful! The new design should not look too plain. the site is too plain.
No colours to contrast from comments and navigation. Hard to navigate. Not idiot proof.
Most people navigate this site including me had to figure out where is where. Consider adding some colours into the site to make in for lively and colourful.
Features are great, but it will be better if there is a comment space for the person's profile. Like the one in devaintART. So people can comment on the person itself.

Could you maybe make it so that when the owner makes a return comment on their own skin that it's in a different color than the rest? That would make it easier to distinguish.
[i am such a pain in the rear, hehehe]

It took me a LONG time to think about what was "critical" of the new design, and it probably because it isnt much. I do agree with hippfieded - the button is hard to see, but all the wonderful work on the new features (like contributor, favourites) are fantastic, and makes blogskins so much more personal!
The new font I've noticed not many people are fan's of. I guess because it just makes the site look - older - and slightly messy.
You're doing wonderful work, and as with every new redesign it is something you just get used to. I quite like it.
Maybe when you have time you could give the forums a bit of a revamp (like the editing mentioned above and quotes etc.)
Fantastic work... and still an avid fan

thiismylife, it's still there on the main login page, just not in the login box in the upper-right. I was trying to conserver space up there, so didn't put it in, but you can click the login link to get to a form that has it.
If enough people want me to put it in the upper-right, I'll do so.
