Web Hosting (Free)
(Sites that offer you space and bandwidth)
http://freewebs.com
http://geocities.com
http://50megs.com
http://brinkster.com
URL redirection (Free)
(Sites that require you to have a website, the shorturl is just a redirect from your website)
http://www.dot.tk/index.html
http://www.zor.org/
http://www.shorturl.com/
http://www.cjb.net
Subdomain Hosting (Free)
(If someone has a domain, they might host people and give them space and bandwidth. For example, I own sixseven.org, and my
hostees have their websites hosted at username.sixseven.org. With subdomain hosting, you can have access to PHP, MYSQL, and
CGI, depending on your webhost)

http://sixseven.org
I am hosting, but I have no MYSQL databases left
Subdomain Hosting Tips
1) It is best if you know FTP (another way to upload files). Go to http://sixseven.org/index.php?action=ftp if you don't know how.
2) Have examples of your works (like graphics or websites) ready because most hosts will only host people with web experience
3) Read the rules. Most hosts will put up a set of rules for you to abide by if you want to be a hostee.
4) Look around the host site. Is it stagnant? Is it very complicated? (Usually if the host site is very good, you have to be very good
too in order to get hosted)
5) Be nice. When you have found a potential host, email them politely asking whether you can be hosted. Most hosts will tell you
what to do if you wanna get hosted, like for example, I have a form for hostee applications.
6) Good luck =)

You should also read what the host allows. For example, direct linking is often not allowed. In addition, mp3 files and movies are usually not allowed. Sometimes greymatter is forbidden as well.

Oh, cutenews, http://cutephp.com/cutenews/ works really well. I really like using it and it's very simple to use.

I would also suggest Hostee.net
http://www.hostee.net
http://www.Hostee.net is a link. A link between people who own and maintain their own domains that have some space to spare and people that need somewhere to put their websites because freewebs isn't good enough or your current host is always down. It's as simple as that. You do all the work, you submit a few details of what you're looking for (either to be hosted or some people for you to host) and then http://www.hostee.net will convert that to our website, where others can browse, and hopefully host you!
You can't lose really. It doesn't cost you anything, and you get either a host or hostee out of it. Once you've been picked you can fill in the update form and http://www.hostee.net will add you to the list of successful users of our website and either delete or modify your listing depending on whether you want to be removed from the database or have your details changed.
Obviously http://www.Hostee.net won’t work without your input and input from others needing this service. So a link back here would really be appreciated if you can find a space on your site. There are some example codes on our link us page and some additional images can be found at the same place along with here.
Hope to see you there
