I think to create the effect you should blend the image in, and make it darker, instead of blurring them cause it just appears pixellated :/

Pretty cute, image doesn't really portray a "ghostly" effect though. Try to have nicer images and blend them together for a more put-together and professional look. Use better codes as these codes are really common.
