I remember when portable phones came in a bag. They were large and bulky which made it hard to carry one in a purse and even harder to stuff into a pocket. Most of us wondered why anyone would want to take a bag phone everywhere they went. Today, most of us have cell phones and wonder what we ever did without them. The smaller size and large range of uses make them something that many of us just cannot live without. The fact that we carry them with us wherever we go gives rise to those much needed cellphone accessories.
You know what I mean; accessories are not limited to a charger to make sure that the battery is ready to go. Many of them have nothing at all to do with the function of the phone, and everything to do with making a fashion statement. Other accessories are intended to help extend the life of the phone by protecting it from unintentional abuse.
Accessories allow us to make a statement about whom we are or who we would like to be. They also give us the opportunity to customize the small device we hold in our hands and communicate with others through. No longer are we relegated to the same color phone all the time either and that in itself can keep others apprised on the kind of mood we are in and how we should be approached. No one wants to be a mouse meeting a bear for lunch, at least not without forewarning.
Many parents are happy to keep their children supplied with headsets or ear-buds so that they can play quietly during long school and other activity commutes, and how would we ever talk hands free without the new blue tooth technology. Some of those accessories are not just desirable they are downright necessary.
I know it's hard to believe that accessories can ever be a necessity but just think about it; how would a parent be able to cope with loud music coming from more than one hand held device without accessories to hold the noise down. Another thing to remember is that our cell phones are not just phones anymore.
The fact is that cell phones help us keep up with the weather and our email, and we can even text message those we want to stay in contact with. Of course I didn’t even mention browsing the internet yet. All things considered cellphone accessories are here to stay and will remain a part of our lives for as long as telephones are mobile.
