the images are all quite bad quality, and would be better if the photo frame didnt cut off at the top and side. the border around the post area looks kind of silly aswell...

I think you could have saved it into a PNG form.
Although this is kinda good for a first, you should have referred to other blogskins and try to see how they edit their image to learn more of it.
