hmmm. i would suggest using one main image instead of two small pics at the side like that.
it makes the whole thing have a great gap or sth.
other than that, your brushes aint suitable also :/

I wouldn't say it is messy, according to your description. But I would say your blending needs to be improved and the pictures look very seperated and plain.
