i don't like the pic. the layout would actually look better without the pic cos it doesn't seem to fit in at all.

I think that this type of layout is overdone. Aside from that, I don't see the direct connection with the purple font and the image. In addition, I think that the black completely overwhelms the relatively light image, which makes your layout seem unbalanced. Nice try, though!
