Ohh... the kitten is cute... but i do agree with crossfirecsh, maybe you could use a more 'dramatic' kitten picture, or something more interesting ... doesn't have to be an adobe photoshop pic Good job, nice and simple.

quite interesting design, however, I think you should have a pic of something more significant, and not realistic, people want their blog to look cool, not simply simple. anyway, its a fantastic first try, and also, do try to make the whole scrollbar white and the arrows of the scrollbar grey, it will look much better that way
