Black gives one a feeling of intensity...etc...in my opinion, white would be more suitable....great job anyway! =)

there is not much 'tranquility' that I see. I do see a simple layout that can be very nice with a few simple tweaks such as using an image that fits the color scheme, and taking out the image-text at the top as it looks very squished.

The concept intrigues me; I just think your resources were limited. The picture seems to have no common colors with the layout itself and kind of pops up out of nowhere. I do like the layout and general organization, but I would suggest a different picture.
