I've looked at this in 800x600 and 1024x768 and they're both messy-- the scroll bar in the middle breaks up the image, the text is impossibleto read and I do NOT like the marquee title

the background does look terrible at 1024x768. and the links are kind of hard to make out. i'd make the background of blog area white, but that's just me.

Yes, not everybody uses 800x600. If you design you should remember that.
